Abstract:
Aim: To study the relationship between MPV levels and the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in pediatric patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its role to be a marker for the disease progression. Conclusion: MPV levels in the CKD patient group were significantly higher than in controls. A significant negative correlation between MPV and GFR In patients with CKD. So, It could be concluded that MPV value can be an easy, rapid, inexpensive, and simple marker for disease progression in pediatric patients with CKD.
