Peristaltic Flow of Micropolar Fluid in a Tube Subjected to Porosity: Mathematical Modeling

Abstract:
The objective of the this paper is to study the effect of porosity on the peristaltic flow of micropolar fluid in a flexible tube with viscoelastic is investigated. Numerical solution is obtained for equations of motion resulting from a perturbation technique for small values of amplitude ratio using Runge-Kutta method. The time mean axial velocity profiles is obtained numerically. Effect of porosity is analyzed on various features of peristaltic motion. The results indicate that the effect of porosity on the time mean axial velocity profiles is very pronounced. The obtained results are also compared with those available in the literature in case of waves in tubes in the absence of porosity. Numerical illustrations that show the physical effects and the pertinent features are investigated at the end of the paper.
