The search aimed to identify the relation–ship between alexithymia and self–esteem. in students with learning disabilities, Participants were 80 (35 male – 45 Female), 5 th grade,their ages ranged from (10 – 12), search tools: mental ability test, by Farouk Abdul – Fatah (1989), quick neurological screening test, by Abdul Wahaab Kamel (1999), alexithymia scale (by researcher), self – esteem scale (by researcher). The results showed that: there was a statistically significant negative correlational relationship between alexithymia and self – esteem, there were statistically significant difference between the mean degrees of low and high alexithymia in self – esteem in favor of low alexithymia, there were statistically significant difference between students with learning disabilities according to gender in alexithymia in favor of males, there were no statistically significant difference between students with learning disabilities according to gender in self – esteem, there were certain dimensions of alexithymia that can predict dimensions and total score of self – esteem.
