The study aimed to assess the current food security situation of red meat in Egypt through: Study the evolution of both the value of agricultural and animal production and red meat and the forgotten importance of the total value of animal production, the numbers of the most important live animals producing red meat and the number of moths from the most important farm animals producing red meat The production of red meat from the slaughter of livestock, the food security indicators of red meat in Egypt, the comparison between the average actual food security indicators in Egypt in light of the minimum recommended by the World Health Organization, and the determination of the economic factors determining the self-sufficiency of red meat in Egypt, And the prediction of both production and consumption and self-sufficiency of red meat until the year 2030.
Descriptive and quantitative analysis was used, such as using the simple regression method, and some methods and economic indicators related to the analysis of the level of food security, and the research relied mainly on published and unpublished secondary data from its various sources such as the data of the economic affairs sector in the Ministry of Agriculture, and the publications of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, And the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (.FAO), in addition to other studies and research related to the field of research, and the most important findings of the research were: that there is a decrease in the average per capita share of local production of red meat as well as a decrease in the average per capita consumption of it in the recent period. The noticeable decrease in the apparent self-sufficiency rate of red meat has also been evident in the recent period, and the food security factor of red meat has decreased in the recent period, and the average per capita share of red meat in Egypt was from 11.09 kg / year, which decreased by 57.22%. On the recommended limit of the World Health Organization, it was also found that there is a direct relationship between the percentage of self-sufficiency in red meat and each of the Kidneys and imports from them, showing an inverse relationship between the percentage of self-sufficiency in red meat and the number of the population
