Abstract:
The use of dyes as food additives for silk worms was an easy and clean process. This was done by spraying the mulberry leaves and fed to silkworm larvae to obtain coloured cocoons. The choice of dyes depended on their chemical composition and molecular weight. This process was not only economical but also environmental-friendly.
