Effect of Body Language Training Program on nursing educators’ Skills at The Faculty of Nursing

Abstract:
Background: Body language plays a vital role in determining the success or failure of people in their ordinary life and professional careers. Aim: The study was conducted to evaluate effect of body language training program on nursing educators' skills at faculty of nursing. Design: A quasi-experimental design was used. Setting: this study was conducted at faculty of nursing. Participants: a purposive sample of 48 nursing educators working at the faculty of nursing. Tools of data collection: socio-demographic sheet, body language scale-self report, and body language training program effectiveness scale were assessed. Results: revealed that there were a highly statistically significant difference in mean scores at pre and post training program regarding educators' use of facial expression, eye contact, body movement, pitch of voice, spatial distance and overall body language skills. Conclusion: The study concluded that the body language training program had a positive effect on improving nursing educators' body language skills. Recommendation: - Holding initial training courses on body language skills in the demonstrator training program. - Holding workshops about body language skills to all faculty members.
