Four banana cultivars (Williams, Grand Nine, Indica and Maghrabi), were micro propagated in acommercial tissue culture Laboratory in Belbis, Sharkia, Egypt, during the period from September 2017 toJanuary 2019. Shoot tips of banana cultivars were cultured aseptically in MS (Murashige and Skoog) mediumsupplemented with different concentrations of cytokinins at 3mg/l, 6mg/l of Benzyl adenine (BA) and 2 mg/l,4 mg/l of Thidiazuron (TDZ) in starting and multiplication stages, while auxins such as 2mg/l Indole-3-butyricacid (IBA), 2mg/l a-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) were used in rooting stage in two subcultures. Shootslength, shoots number per explant, leaves number per explant and shoots diameter were counted at the end ofeach subculture in multiplication and rooting stages, in addition to roots number, weight and length at the endof rooting stage. The results demonstrated that 4 μM/l of TDZ produced the highest number of shoot perexplant in both Williams and Grand Nine cultivars, while the highest shoots number in Maghrabi and Indicacultivars were obtained in media supplemented with 6 mg BA /l and 2 μM TDZ /l. Moreover, Grand Nine hadsignificantly higher number of shoots, roots number length and weight than all cultivars. The longest shootwas produced by 6 mg BA/l in Williams, Grand Nine and Maghrabi cultivars. High heritability values wereobtained for shoot number (H = 0.80) and shoot length (H = 0.62), while heritability value was moderate for22leaves number (H = 0.24) and low for shoot diameter (H = 0.02). Therefore, Grand Nine had better shoots and22roots characteristics than all cultivars in the response of hormones concentrations. Shoot number and shootlength characters are controlled by genetics more than the environment, while leaves number and shootdiameter, respectively explain that those characters could be improved by others factors such as fertilization, irrigation and other environmental conditions
