Today's world is living in the era of the "knowledge" revolution, and administrative organizations have shifted to managing data and information. Where administrative organizations of all kinds are classified into "organizations that know, and organizations that do not know," and not organizations that own and organizations that "do not possess" and thus the focus of progress of any organization or any manager is "knowledge"
Data and information have become a force that can be used to influence the behavior and activities of individuals within administrative organizations. Abundant information does not mean something of value to a manager if he does not properly manage and exploit it.
Hence the great importance of data and information management, which plays a vital and influential role in developing the performance of organizations of all kinds. The manager will not be able to reach this sophistication and development except through a set of methods and tools that depend on integrated rules on the one hand and on the pursuit and assimilation of information technology and the use of electronic computers. On the other hand 0
Emphasizing the importance of data and information, some believe that 90% of effective decisions consist of accurate data and information, and that 10% represent the ambition, practices and estimates of the decision maker (the manager).
Data and information are the energy required to perform the administrative functions of planning, organizing, directing and controlling. Therefore, it must be dealt with through specialized electronic programs to deal with databases to facilitate their classification, sorting, storing and retrieval when needed to make administrative decisions. And one of the most popular programs is Access 2007, which can deal with data of different sizes and types in the organization and in the form of tables that can be linked to easily inquire about the required data, and print reports and forms in a form that suits the nature of the decision to be taken.
This book consists of five chapters. The first chapter dealt with what data and information are by presenting the concept and the most important differences between data and information, the characteristics of information, how to convert data into information, methods of data processing, and finally the types of information. The chapter ends with practical exercises.
As for the second chapter, it presented an introduction to the Access 2007 program, through defining the program, defining databases, defining the objects that the program deals with, the program’s functions, in addition to data types and types of databases, and how to deal with the program and organize databases inside Access 2007. The chapter ends with a practical example and practical exercises.
The third chapter deals with how to create a database based on the design of the inputs, by explaining how to create and create a spreadsheet and the procedures for dealing with the table from entering and formatting data, sorting and filtering the data. The chapter ends with a practical example and practical exercises.
As for the fourth chapter, it reviewed the characteristics of the database by explaining the basics of database design and design stages, how to establish relationships between tables and types of relationships, and how to verify referential integrity between data. The chapter ends with a practical example and practical exercises.
Finally, the fifth chapter deals with one of the administrative applications using computers, which is e-marketing, and internet marketing by addressing the concept, advantages, and importance of each, and the most important differences that distinguish e-marketing from internet marketing.
