This study aimed to: Identify the cultural identity of the users of virtual communities from rural youth, and its components (language and dialogue with others, commitment to societal norms, knowledge and awareness development, behavior and self-affirmation,expand relationships, consumption culture, and citizenship and belonging), Identify the gap between the real cultural identity and the virtual cultural identity of the rural youth users of virtual communities, and its components, Determinate related and affecting factors on the cultural identity of the rural youth users of virtual communities, Identify differences in cultural identity(rea/ virtual) and its components according to gender, and to identify the positive and negative effects of the use of virtual communities according to respondents. The study was conducted on a random sample of 201 respondents of the rural youth users of the virtual communities in Zarzamoun and Hanoura villages in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. The data was collected using a questionnaire with personal interview during the period from the beginning of November to the end of December 2017. Data had been analyzed by using frequencies and percentages, weighted average, alpha cronbach, pearson simple correlation coefficient, GPA, t- test, And Step Wise Multiple Regression. The study found that the majority of respondents have a mediate cultural identity as 59.7% for real cultural identity and 58.2% for virtual cultural identity, and there was a gap between the real cultural identity and the virtual cultural identity of rural youth according to language and dialogue with others. Social behavior, self-affirmation, and the overall degree of cultural identity in favor of real cultural identity, while there was a gap in favor of the virtual cultural identity according to: acquiring knowledge, developing awareness, expanding social relations, The consumption culture, and citizenship and belonging. Also there are three independent variables contributed significantly in explaining (25.3%) of the total variance of the cultural identity of the rural youth, And The percentage of the contribution of each of these three variables :Community participation, the number of hours of using social communication sites, and the number of years of using social communication sites as follows 16.2%, 6.2%, 2.9% and the effects of these variables were positive.
