Abstract: |
The current research aims to identify the relationship between acculturation patterns and psychological resilience in Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students, and to achieve this goal, the research conducted in a sample of (n. 53) In Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students enrolled in specific education colleges at the universities of Zagazig and Ain Shams, divided as follow (23) males, (30) Females aged (19-24) years with mean age (20,03), a standard deviation (1,66), their hearing impairment ranged between deaf (24), hearing impaired (29), and after conducting the acculturation scale and psychological resilience scale in the deaf, the most important findings resulted in psychological resilience Varity in Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students according to acculturation patterns, there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students in psychological resilience according to gender (male - female), and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students in psychological resilience according to different methods of communication (signs – lip-reading – total communication), and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students according to type (gender, self-identity, communication mode), and that the personality dynamics in Deaf and Hard of Hearing University Students vary according psychological resilience degree (as confirmed in the clinical study).
