Abstract:
The current research aims to identify the relationship between neurotic perfectionism and social anxiety among high/low self-compassion in Adolescents, as well as to identify the differences between (high / low) self- compassion in neurotic perfectionism and social anxiety, and also to identify the path of the relationship between self- compassion and neurotic perfectionism and social anxiety in adolescents, The research sample consisted of (200) adolescents with a time span between (13-18) years, The research tools were a measure of (self- compassion, neurotic perfectionism, and social anxiety), and Using correlation coefficients, (t) testing, and path analysis: The results of the research found that there is a positive correlation with statistically significant (at 0.01 level) between the total degree of neurotic perfectionism and the total degree of social anxiety in (high / low) self- compassion, and the presence of statistically significant differences (at 0.01 level) between the averages of the scores of both high And those who have low self- compassion in adolescents in the total degree of neurotic perfectionism and all its sub-dimensions, and the overall degree of social anxiety and all its sub-dimensions in favor of the low self- compassion in adolescents, as well as there are direct and indirect statistically significant effects (at the level of 0.01) between both the self- compassion and neurotic perfectionism and social anxiety among adolescents. In general The research recommends, emphasizing the important role of self- compassion in achieving positive psychological, physical, and educational outcomes for adolescents, in particular mitigating the impact of neurotic perfectionism and social anxiety.
