Economic development is considered one of the most important pillars of the sustainable development strategy "Egypt Vision 2030" as the main engine to achieve all the goals of the strategy, where sustainable economic growth leads to job opportunities and the generation and increase of income, which enhances the state's ability to develop the country's infrastructure necessary to attract domestic and foreign investment and raise The level of services needed for citizens ’lives to improve their standard of living and enable them to continue to support the development process and provide a prosperous and sustainable life for all citizens. This research aims to understand the reality of sustainable economic development in Egypt with all the incentives and constraints of this reality, therefore this research highlights an analysis of the development of economic development performance in Egypt, and a study of the economic development axis as one of the axes of sustainable development according to performance measurement indicators identified by the development strategy 2030, with its ten axes, with a review of the reasons for the spatial variation of economic development indicators in the planning regions of Egypt, and the identification of obstacles that stand in the way of sustainable economic development, up to a set of recommendations that would enhance Egypt's chances of advancing the ladder of sustainable economic development taking into account the regional balance Between the planning regions of Egypt.
