Abstract:
morphine and fentanyl are producing effective postoperative analgesia without significant respiratory or hemodynamic changes as many anesthiologists think, provided that they are given at the prescribed doses as in our study. Therefore, fentanyl and morphine can be used safely as postoperative analgesics for the first 48 hours without risk of hypoxemia or respiratory depression as long as patients fulfilled our study criteria.
