Abstract: |
The aim of this study was to develop the small industries for the production of children's clothing by recycling textile wastes and mixing them with cotton material. Three yarn No; 12, 16 and 20E were produced using ring spinning machine and woven as wefts and used for clothes production wherein six designs of children clothes were produced. Questionnaire was designed, to a group of specialists in the field of clothing and textiles for their opinions. Tests such as Tensile strength, elongation ratio, degree of air permeability, water absorption, resistance of Hardness, abrasion resistance and fabrics hardness were determined at the Institute of Measurement and Calibration, Giza, Egypt.
The correlation coefficient was calculated and the regression line equation was determined between each thread yarn and each property. The obtained results show that:
- The fabrics produced from yarn No 12 showed the highest score for Tensile strength, water absorption, abrasion resistance and flexibility and less hard.
- The fabrics produced from yarn No 20 were the highest in terms of elongation ratio (%), air permeability and , resistance of Crimp and more hard.
Thus, fabrics produced from yarn No 12 were the best in quality as fabrics suitable for using in the production of children's clothing.
- There were insignificant differences between the studied designs in term of overall appearance of children's clothes where the calculated value of P was1.097 which is statistically insignificant value at 0.05 level,
- There were insignificant differences between the studied designs in term of achieving the aesthetic side where calculated value of P was 11.369 which is statistically insignificant value at 0.05,
- The third design showed the highest score with quality coefficient of 99.704 followed by the second design with quality coefficient of 98.963, followed by the first design with quality coefficient of 98.815, followed by the sixth design with quality coefficient of 98.815, followed by the fifth design with quality coefficient of 98.667, followed by the fourth design with quality coefficient of 98.074.
Key words: small industries - children's clothing - textile wastes recycling
