Abstract:	The reaction of 3-chloro-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine 1 with amino derivatives and with active methylene compounds have been studies in neutral and alkaline media to obtain 3-heteroaryl- 5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazines. The structures of the new compounds have been elucidated with the help of elemental analysis and spectral data. Preliminary screening of some selected compounds for antimicrobial activity is reported.
