: The study aimed to identify the level of quality of life and its axes: the quality of the economic situation, the quality of social life, the quality of education, the quality of public health, the quality of mental health, the quality of the environmental situation of rural people separately before and after the exchange rate liberalization, test the significance of differences in the quality of life and its axes separately before and after the exchange rate liberalization, identify the most important problems that limit the quality of life from the perspective of study sample. The study was conducted in Sharkia governorate based on the social survey methodology in Barkimim and Al Masada villages. The sample was selected by 10% of the total number of households in each village. The data was collected by a questionnaire from the beginning of November to the end of December 2018. Data had been analyzed by using frequencies and percentages, arithmetic average, alpha Cronbach, and Paired-Samples T test. The study found several results: The level of quality of life was average before the exchange rate liberalization at the majority of respondents by 44.8%, while the quality of life became low after the exchange rate liberalization at more than half of the respondents by 56.3%, and the presence of a significant difference at the level of Significant 0.01 in the quality of life of rural people before and after the exchange rate liberalization, this difference in favor of the pre-exchange rate liberalization period, with the highest average 254.34.
