Abstract:
Calculations are represented on the widths and shifts of pressure-broadened lines (3 S-1(0) - 3(1)P(1), lambda = 2851.6 Angstrom) and (4(1)S(0) - 4 P-1(1), lambda = 4226.7 Angstrom) of Mg and Ca atoms perturbed by molecular gas N-2 using the impact theory. Graphical representation of the calculated width and shift of the colliding pair with the impact parameter (b) has shown that, rapid oscillations occurred in the b-region approximately before the Weisskopf radius (b), and then smooth curves were formed nearly after the (b(0)) values.
