Background: A plenty of options have been described for reconstruction of large myelomeningocele defects. We reported our experience of using bipedicled subcostal and lumbar arteries perforator flap. Material and Methods: During a period of 31 months 23 neonates with large myelomeningocele defects were reconstructed with unilateral bipedicled subcostal and lumbar artery perforator flaps. We did not report any total flap loss. Results: Only one flap suffered distal necrosis that becomes well after debridement and re-suturing. All donor sites were closed primary. Conclusion: Our study confirmed reliability of bipedicled subcostal and lumbar artery perforator flaps in reconstruction of large myelomeningocle defects.
