As a manifestation of its authority, hegemony, and eligibility to produce knowledge, the self takes the discourse /narrative as a domain for testing its free will in confronting the authority of the other and the various heterosexual modes that are an active component in the formation of discourse and the self. The other inhabits social and cultural traditions and patterns, as inhabits language, sayings and speeches; and it has multiple forms: identical, similar, foreign. The crisis of the self increases when the history of the group /the similar other stands against the self-identity by not recognizing it outside the frameworks of the public identity, at a time when the self finds itself forced to distance itself from this public identity and its language so that it is not possible to expose and reveal the use of the mother language, and the language of the other becomes the way of self to find itself. This is what the research seeks to test, and monitor the appearances of the other and compare them in two novels: one in arabic, which is a novel: Beautiful Sins (2006 AD) by the egyptian writer: Salah Wali; The second is in English, and it is a novel: A Sister to Scheherazade by the algerian writer: Assia Djebar.
