Introduction:
The concept of self is a center of interest and an area for many educational and psychological research, as the positive self-concept is an educational and social goal and an underlying force and a catalyst for achievement, it is one of the desired outcomes of the practical, educational and psychological attitudes that the child goes through.
For a child to grow properly, we must provide him with a rich educational environment full of excitement that develops his or her abilities and sharpens his preparations, growing up with deliberate educational experiences, directing his various activities towards understanding himself and then achieving them.
Due to the rapid developments taking place in this era and the emergence of modern technology and technology and its wide spread, which led many institutions that care for children to keep up with this development, by producing electronic stories for children characterized by movement, sound and image, which has been popular Wide among them, they provoke their emotions, and affect the way they think and understand themselves.
The results of several studies have confirmed the effectiveness of the e-stories program in developing many positive aspects of a child's personality, such as hatzigianni & Margetts (2012), AlGhamdi (2013) and Tobias, et al. (2014).
The problem of the research:
How unfortunate it is that the image that the child has created about himself is negative, or that his concept of himself is low, and the child is miserable and sad, this child who is the goal of the present and the pillar of the future.
Since our children are our most important asset, and because their perception of themselves is linked to the trends they acquire in the direction of their behavior, this study has been used to use electronic stories to improve the child's perception of himself.
The research problem can be formulated in the light of the following questions:
1- What is the effectiveness of a program that uses e-stories to improve the self-perception of kindergarten children?
2- How effective is a program that uses e-stories to improve the self-perception of kindergarten children two months after the application is completed?
The significance of the research:
The search objectives are determined by:
1- Reveal the effectiveness of a program that uses electronic stories to improve the self-perception of kindergarten children.
2- To reveal the continuity of the impact of a program that uses electronic stories to improve the self-perception of kindergarten children.
The purpose of the research:
Search results may be useful for:
- To highlight the effectiveness of the use of electronic stories in improving the self-perception of kindergarten children.
- provide an interactive learning environment that increases children's positivity and participation in learning attitudes in general.
- Make some recommendations to those responsible for raising and educating the child.
- Provide some research proposals to specialists and researchers in the field of childhood studies.
The sample of the research:
The research was conducted on a sample of (30) kindergarten children, aged between 5-6 years, an average age (69.97) months, and a standard deviation (3.14) degrees. They were divided into two groups, one officer and the other experimental, the strength of each group (15) children.
The tools of the research:
The researcher used the following tools to achieve the objectives of the research:
1- General child data form: Preparation of the "researcher", supplement No. (1).
2- Child Self-Concept Test: Preparation by Ibrahim Qashqosh, Appendix No. (2).
3- The man's drawing test for Good Inf-Harris, translated and prepared by Mustafa Fahmy, Appendix No. (3).
4- A program that uses electronic stories to improve the concept of self-esteem in children preparing "The Researcher", Appendix No. (4).
The methodology of the research:
The current research is based on a quasi-experimental approach and includes two groups, one controlled and the other experimental.
Statistical methods:
1. Detecting the moderation of grade distribution: by calculating the coefficient of sprains, the researcher was used for his calculation of the centrality (arithmetic- intermediate average - standard deviation).
2. Testing the homogeneity of the two samples: by calculating the ratio.
3. Calculating the significance of the differences between averages: The researcher used the "T" test to calculate the significance of the differences between the averages
The results of the research:
The search results found:
1- Statistically significant differences between the average grades of children of the control and experimental groups on the self-concept test depicted for children after the application of the program, and differences in favor of the children of the experimental group.
2- Statistically significant differences between the average grades of children of the experimental group before and after the application of the program on the concept of self-concept illustrated for children, and differences in favor of the dimensional application.
3- The lack of statistically significant differences between the average grades of the experimental group's children on the child self-concept test immediately after the implementation of the program and two months after the program stopped.
