Introduction:
Childhood is the most important and the foundation of the entire human life, and the more well-cared and well-educated a child is, the happier and more productive his or her life is.
Childhood is one of the most important age stages that students and researchers in developmental psychology pay attention to, and this is, of course, the result of the belief that the seed is the foundation, and that care must be from the beginning. Shame is one of the human feelings on which we do not disagree as a laudable characteristic if it is within the limits of the required modesty and is questionable if it goes beyond those limits.
Training shy children to acquire social skills to communicate and interact with others, as well as to teach them proper and logical patterns of thinking, while increasing their confidence in themselves and their abilities, is one of the best ways to treat shyness as a widespread social problem. Many studies have confirmed that there is a positive correlation between training children in social skills and reducing their shyness: "McKenna, et al.," (2014), "Andrews" (2016), "Li, et al." (2016) and "Elçin" (2017).
The problem of the research:
The search problem can be formulated in the following questions:
1- What is the effectiveness of the Social Skills Training Program in reducing the feeling of shame in kindergarten children?
2- Is the effectiveness of the social skills training program in reducing the shame of kindergarten children going on two months after the program is discontinued?
The significance of the research:
The search objectives are determined by:
1- Reveal the effectiveness of the social skills training program in reducing the feeling of shame in kindergarten children.
2- To reveal the continuity of the impact of the training programme on social skills.
The purpose of the research:
1- Directing the attention of child care and education providers to the importance of training children in social skills as an entry point for behavior albeit agreed and achieving the proper development of children.
2- Improving social skills and reducing the level of shame in kindergarten children.
The sample of the research:
The research was conducted on a sample of (28) children from kindergarten children, ages between (5-6) years, with an average age of (70.4) months, and a standard deviation (3.5) degrees.
The tools of the research:
The researcher used the following tools to achieve the objectives of the research:
1- General child data form: Preparation of the "researcher", supplement No. (1).
2- Measure of shame in kindergarten children: preparation of "The Researcher", Supplement No. (2).
3- Children's social skills training program: preparation of "The Researcher", Supplement No. (3).
The methodology of the research:
The current research is based on a quasi-experimental approach and includes two groups, one a controlled group whose children are not exposed to the program used in the research and the other an experimental group whose children are exposed to the program. Statistical methods:
1- Detecting the moderation of grade distribution: by calculating the coefficient of sprains, the researcher was used for his calculation of the centrality (arithmetic- intermediate average - standard deviation).
2- Calculating the stability and honesty of the measure of shame for kindergarten children: The researcher used the correlation coefficient to calculate the stability of the scale, as well as the calculation of the correlation altruism in the method of estimates, and the linear correlation coefficient of Pearson to calculate the internal consistency of the sub axes within the scale.
3- Testing the homogeneity of the two samples: by calculating the ratio.
4- Calculating the significance of the differences between averages: The researcher used the "T" test to calculate the significance of the differences between the averages.
The results of the research:
After applying research tools and conducting statistical transactions, the following results were reached:
1- Statistically significant differences between the average grades of children of the control and experimental groups on the measure of shyness after the application of the program, and differences in favor of the children of the experimental group.
2- Statistically significant differences between the average grades of children of the experimental group before and after the application of the program on the measure of shyness, and differences in favor of the dimensional application.
3- There are no statistically significant differences between the average grades of the experimental group's children on the measure of feeling of shame immediately after the program was implemented and two months after the program was discontinued.
