Biological and Biochemical Studies on the Effect of Inulin in Artichoke leaves on the Immune System of Male Rats

Abstract:
White male albino rats were fed on food diets containing artichoke powder at concentrations of 5, 10 and 20% for 42 days to assess the biological and biochemical effects of artichoke leaves. In this study, artichoke powder was used to strengthen the diet of rats and to improve the function of the immune system. The results of the experiment obtained after diet for 42 days were relative body weight gain, feed intake, feed efficiency ratio, blood sugar level and significantly improved liver and kidneys functions for the treated group and its diet is supported by artichoke powder by 20% as compared to other consolidation ratios (5, 10%). Also confirmed the histological of the liver and kidneys tissues on the veracity of the results of biochemical analyzes of the blood cells of the experimental animals used in the experiment. The best results recorded of the artichoke leaves powder concentration 20% better results than all groups. Kidney function was recorded the best value of creatinine and urea (0.899 ± 0.038 mg/dL and 39.092 ± 1.039 mg/dL) for the artichoke leaves group 20%, and the results of liver enzymes GPT, GOT and ALP were recorded for the artichoke leaves 20%, the best results (40.196± 5.506, 130.508 ± 14.782, 184.438±7.358 U/L) with significant differences compared to negative and positive control groups respectively.
