Abstract:	Chemical extraction represents an important tool for understanding arsenic bonding and speciation in soils, as well as for assessment and management of arsenic contaminated sites. The object of this paper is to review extraction mechanisms and discuss pitfalls to the successful application of extraction methodologies.
