A series of cyclic and acyclic nucleosides of polyfunctionalized 2-oxo(thiooxo)nicotinonitrile derivatives 1 and 2 were synthesized by reaction of compounds 1 or 2 with glycosyl bromides or other alkylating agents in the presence of K2CO3
