Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus has emerged as a major health challenge ofthe 21st century. The disease has assumed epidemic proportionsglobally. For centuries we have known the existence of two types ofdiabetes; type one, where the basic defect is an absolute defiency ofinsulin due to an autoimrnune destruction of B cells and the type ITdiabetes, where there is decreased secretion of insulin or an increasedresistance to the action of insulin by the insulin sensitive tissues.Studies have shown that circulating inflammatory markers likeCRP, CP and their mediators ILl, IL6 and TNFa are higher in typel, 2diabetes mellitus. This work aim to study:• Effect of STZ on blood glucose level of rat.• Measure gene expression of CP and CRP in liver.• Biochemical measurements of insulin, total lipid, cholesterol andLDL, HDL, VLDL in serum of rat.• Figure out the structural changes of liver in control and diabetic rat.For this our search aimed to study the effect of diabetes throughinjection of STZ on tissues gene expression in liver and compare itwith the control rat.60 male albino rats were used in the study. Their weight rangedfrom 200gm. Rats will be housed in stainless steel cages in thelibratory house in biochemistry department which will adapted to theroom and cage environment 15 days before the beginning of the
