Ultrasonography of the abdominal surgical affections in dogs and cats

Abstract:
This work was carried out on a total number of 147 dogs and 90 cats, suffering from different abdominal surgical affections. 144 dogs and 69 cats were examined in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Small Animal Clinic (Justus- Liebig- UniversIn the present study 38 dogs and 23 cats were examined ultrasonographically for gastrointestinal tract (G.I.T) surgical affections.In Germany, 12 dogs suffered ileus due to parasitic infestations or obstructed foreign bodies. 3 dogs were with full stomach wall thickening. 7 cases suffered intestinal tumours. 3 cases were ultrasonographically examined for assessing gastropexy site. 2
