Abstract:
A total number of 87 native breed Egyptian rams were included in this investigation. Rams approximately similar ages and weights were primarily collected from different sale markets around Diarb-Negm city Sharkia Provence. Rams were kept freely in enclosuThe present work was designed to include both field and experimental study:-Field study:This study aimed to correlate the severity of ruminal lactic acidosis with the actual values of acid base balance and some other diagnostic biochemical parameters. Studying the effect of parenteral and oral fluid therapy according to the severity of the iSeventy seven rams were included in this study. Twenty rams were clearly healthy and kept as a control. Fifty seven rams were clinically diseased and showed a various degrees of ruminal lactic acidosis during the prevalence of three successive outbreaks aDiseased rams were classified according to the nature, sequences and severity of the clinical signs into the following groups:Group (1): Ten sheep were suffered moderate lactic acidosis.Group (2): Thirty four sheep affected with severe signs of acidosis, (5) sheep of them were associated with respiratory signs.Group (3): Eight sheep were dead from very severe acidosis. The present study cleared that, the severity of lactic acidosis could be assessed under field condition by the degree of deterioration in the general systemic state such as dehydration and acidosis. General condition, skin elasticity, sunken of eye ball a
