Abstract:
Mastitis is implicated as one of the major disease problems in dairyanimals. from the economical point of view, mastitis results in markedreduction in amount of milk yield or even complete destruction of mammary. gland and significant alteration in composition of milk. Also mastitis is sometimes associated with many zonootic diseases in which milk acts as a vehicle of infection. As milk andfor growth, multiplication and production of toxins so that it become a source of food poisoning to man. A total of 415 samples from milk and milk products, as 200 mastitic milk samples, 70 subclinical mastitic milk samples, 65 Kareish cheese, 50 yoghurt were recovered from 200 mastitic milk samples with a percentage of 28%, while in case of subclinical mastitic milk samples 14 S. aureus isolates were recoveredwith a ratio of 20%.In case of milk products samples, S. aureus was isolated from Kareishcheese, yoghurt and ice cream as 16.9%, 18% and 10% respectively. The prevalence of S. aureus isolation from milk products was 15.9%.
