Abstract:
The present work was l’el’:fGl’l’l’l(!d to investigate the effects ofdanofloxacin and ceftiofur sodium on some hematological and biochemical parameters .This study was carried out on thirty new Zealand male rabbits weighing 500gm and of 30 days old. Rabbits were divided into 3 groups. Each group contained 10 rabbits.1 st group non- treated (control group)2nd group injected with danofloxacin (5mg/kg b.wt. once daily)subcutaneously for three successive days3rd group injected with ceftiofur sodium (3mg/kg b.wt. once daily)intramuscularly for five successive days.Blood samples were collected at the 1 S\ 7th and 14th days from stopping drugs administration. Two blood samples were collected from the marginal ear vein. The 1 st sample was five ml ofblood without anticoagulant was collected in a sterile test tube forseparation of serum for some biochemical analysis. The 2nd samplewas 1 ml of blood was taken in clean Wasserman tubes containingdipotassium salts of EDT A for hematological examinations.A. Hematological results:A.I. Erythrocytic parameters:Concerning the results of erythrogram, danofloxacin and ceftiofur sodium groups showed a significant decrease in red blood cells count (RBCs), hemoglobin concentration (Hb) and packed cell volume (PCV) at the 1 st and 7th days post stopping the treatment
