Abstract:
As results of the great deal of attention and interest which hasbeen recently directed towards the study of TAVANIC and KLACIDXL antibiotics. This work was designed to throw further light on thepossible effect on the activities and gene expression of superoxidedismutase and catalase in the host which known as very important antioxidative enzymes as well as the glutathione state in liver of the rats. The present study deals with the following parameters:(1) Hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity.(2) Hepatic catalase (CAT) activity.(3) Hepatic glutathione (total TG, reduced GSH and oxidizedGSSG levels.(4) Genatic expression of superoxide dismutase and catalase.Mature female wister rats about 3 months (125+5 gm bodyweight) were used in the present study. The animals were obtainedfrom the central animals house of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,Zagazig university. Animals were maintained in stainless steel cagesin the biochemistry department under hygienic condition. The animalsreceived standard rat pellet diet and water ad libtum. The animalswere segregated into nine groups. These are follow:First group: consists of 8 rats given O.lml distilled water without ofthe antibiotic and administrated orally usingmicropipette for all experimental days.
