Abstract:
In this work some immunological studies on dexamethasone were carried out for evaluation of the dexamethasone immunosuppressant effects on the immune cells, specifically monocytes and macrophages. Fifty adult healthy sheep of either sex were included in tphagocytic activity, microbicidal activity and nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT)were investigated. It had been found that there wasn’t any morphologicalchanges in both of control and dexamethasone treated MDM at allconcentration and all time intervals.Regarding the dexamethasone effect on the phagocytic activity, MDMcells were cultured and the FITC labeled C. albicans was added atconcentration of 40 FTTC labeled yeast per MDM, and phagocytic activitywas investigated. The cell phagocytic activity was more 90% in both controland dexamethasone treated cells with all doses at all time intervals. The cellsuptake to FTTC labeled C. albicans was higher in control MDM untreateddexamethasone than MDM treated with dexamethasone at concentration of
