Abstract:
Cancer is considered one of the most common causes ofmortality worldwide. The target of much research has been onthe discovery of natural and synthetic compounds that can beused in the prevention and / or treatment of cancer. Naturalproducts of either plant or animal origin that exhibited anti-tumor activities have been discovered. Two hundred and fifty adult female Swiss albino micewere divided into fives groups. Gp.(l) was the negative control,gp.(2) was Lp inoculated with 2.5 xl 06 EAC, gp.(3)was Lpinoculated with 2.5 x l 06 EAC and orally treated withpropolis(50 mg / kg b wt.),gp(4) was l.p inoculated with 2.5xl06 EAC and orally treated with methotrexate (O.4mg / kg bwt.) and gp.(5) was Lp inoculated with 2.5 xl 06 EAC andorally treated with combination of propolis and methotrexate.Survival analysis was calculated, and then mice weresacrificed. Blood samples for hematological andimmunological studies, serum samples for biochemical studies, tissue specimens were collected from the liver, lung, kidneys, spleen and peritoneum for histopathological examination. Livertissue homogenate for antioxidant estimation.
