Abstract:
Ninety mature male and female rats were employed in this study. They were divided into 9 equal groups each of 10 (5 males & 5females). The first group was served as universal control group. Thesecond group received ciprofloxacin (1.8 mg/lOO gm b.wt.) i.p dailyfor 5 days.The third group was given rifampicin (2.25 mg/IOO gm.b.wt.) i.p dailyfor 5 days.The fourth group received testosterone (2.5 mg/lOO gm b.wt.) given assingle S.C dose 24 hours before blood sampling and served astestosterone control group.The 5th group received progesterone hormone (1.25 mgll 00 b.wt.)given as a single S.C injection 24 hours before bloodsampling and served as a progesterone control group.Sixth group received ciprofloxacin in the same previous dose daily for5 days in addition to testosterone 24 hours before bloodsampling.The seventh group received ciprofloxacin in the dose given to 2ndgroup daily for 5 days plus progesterone 24 hours beforeblood sampling.The eights group received rifampicin in the same dose given to 3rdgroup daily for 5 days in addition to a single S.C injection oftestosterone 24 hours before blood sampling.
