Abstract:
Subacute ruminal acidosis is one of the most important diseases in fattening farms especially which depended on the highly concentrated ration with high percent of easily fermented carbohydrates and low percents of physical effective fiber . This disease 1-Detect the prevalence of SARA in seven farms in Sharkia and Ismalia governorates through estimation of ruminal pH with relation to some ruminal fluid parameters such as acetate, propionate, acetate/propionate ratio, butyrate, valerate, total VFA concent2- Abattoir survey on the slaughtered calves ( when possible ) for detection of the percent of ruminal lesion and liver abscesses with relation to SARA . Also isolation and identification of causative agent and make susceptibility test .
