Evaluation of recent diagnostic tools in diagnosis of some liver diseases in dogs

Abstract:
Summary:-The present study was carried out for assessment the value of the different tools of diagnosis of some liver diseases in dogs. These occurred by experimental induction of glucocorticoids hepatopathy in dogs and follow up the minute changes which These study included (18) dogs (Male and female) mixed breeds, (9-18) month of age and their body weight ranged from (6-13) kgs B.W. These dogs were housed individually in kennels; they were fed on non commercial feed stuff (animal and chicken extract) an1) control group :-This group included healthy used dogs before the experiment. They were clinical healthy through clinical hematological, biochemical, ultrasonographic and laparoscopic examinations. These animals were free from external and internal parasites after medicat2) Experimental group:-Experimental induction of hepatopathy was done by using glucocorticoids (dexamethasone) on the same group. Dexamethasone was used by a toxic dose as 2mg/ kg of body weight/day intramuscular injection.Clinical, ultrasonographic, hematological, biochemical, immunological, laparoscopic and Histopathological examinations were carried out weekly for 4 successive weeks during the experiment.I)-Clinical examinations:-There were many clinical signs appeared on animal by daily inspection such as depression, polydipsia, polyuria, dehydration, lethargy recumbency, diarrhea, protrusion of tongue, panting, rough coat, localized area of alopecia, abdominal enlargement, skin II) - Hematological examination:-There were non significant increases in total RBCs count and PCV in the first week while it turn to significant decrease from the second week and till the end of the experiment. On the other hands, Hb significant decrease from the first week of the experiThere were significant increases in total leucocytic count from second week till the end of the experiment. Moreover, differential leucocytic count showed neutrophillia, lymphopenia and esinopenia from the first and second week till the end of the neutrop
