Pathological Studies on The Interaction Between Mild And Pathogenic Strains of Infectious Bursal disease in Chicken

Abstract:
One hundred and seventy five Specific Pathogen Free chicks (SPF chicks) were devided into 7 groups to study the interaction between intermediate IBDV D78 and vvIBDV Giza2008. Three week old chicken were allotted into groups of 25 chicken each. Group A ”GIGiza2008 simultaneously with D78; Group B ”G2”, received Giza2008 16hours after D78; Group C ”G3”, received Giza2008 24 hours after D78;Group D ”G4”, received Giza2008 48 hours after D78; Group E ”G5”,received only D78; Group F ”G6”, each chicken received only Giza2008 andGroup G ”G7”, negative control. Giza2008 and D78 were administered witha dose of 0.2 ml I02EID50/chicken and one dose in 0.2 ml saline/chickenrespectively. In the first and second day PI, G6 showed ruffled feathers,depression, tremors, whitish diarrhea and decrease feed intake. Mortalitywas 60%. G5 showed neither abnormal clinical sign nor mortality.findings G6 showed dehydrated carcass and ic patches on thigh muscles. Liver showed discoloration with ic borders and hemorrhagic streaks on the surface. Kidneysswelling, congestion and white line on its surface. Spleen wasand mottled. Thymus showed light clinical signs when compared. Postmortem findings in bursa of Fabricius of in G6 2 days PIement, edema and hemorrhage in the mucosal surface. BlBw ed significantly decreased values.G5 did not show significant
