Abstract:
This work was conducted at the Department of Animal WealthDevelopment, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt at theperiod extend from August till November 2008 to investigate the effect ofdietary supplementation of some feed additive (probiotic, antibiotic andvitamins) on economic and productive efficiency in Tilapia nilotica(Oreochromis niloticus) and Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fingerlings. The design of this study include four groups (triplicate for each group) offingerlings of Nile tilapia and Common carp, the groups included in this studyclassified to group I, which fed on basal diet without any supplementation offeed additive (control group), group H, which fed on basal diet withsupplementation with probiotic bactocell (Pediococcus acidilacticii at 1 gmBactocell/ kg, group IH which fed on basal diet with supplementation withantibiotic oxytetracycline at 0.6 gm oxytetracycline/ kg and group IV that fed onbasal diet with supplementation with vitamin C at 400 mg/kg diet and vitamin Eat 300 mg / kg diet. The fish were stocked in clean concrete ponds (31-1 X 1 m)with three replicate for each treatment. Each pond had four equal net partitions(nearly 30 fingerlings/partition),We studied the variables that affecting productive efficiency whichincluded biweekly body weight, body weight gain, weight gain percent, bodylength, condition factor, relative growth rate, feed consumption, feed conversionratio, feed efficiency and some immune response measurements throughdetermination of differential leucocytic counts (Lymphocyte, Neutrophil,Monocyte, Basophil, Esinophil), phagocytic activity and phagocytic index, alsodetermination of economic efficiency parameters through determination of totalreturns, total costs, net profit, partial and collective measures of efficiency.
