Abstract:
In this study the immune response of chickens was evaluatedafter vaccination with bivalent and trivalent viral vaccines andbacterial vaccines which commonly known in the Egyptianmarket by using HI, ELISA, IHTand challenge tests. Twohundred and forty (240) apparently healthy day old chicks (ArborAcre plus) were divided into two experimental designs.1. Evaluation of viral vaccines:Single serum dilution (1:500) ELISA, at 4 weeks postvaccination with bivalent ND+IB live vaccine, antibody titreagainst NDv and IBv declined, while post revaccination with thesame vaccine, the titre increased. Vaccination with bivalentND+ IBD inactivated vaccine revealed sustained antibody titreagainst NDv and IBDv at 3 and 4 weeks post, while the titreagainst ND and IBD was higher post revaccinated with the samevaccine and increased 4 weeks post revaccination. Vaccinationwith trivalent ND+ IB+ IBD inactivated vaccine after priming withlive vaccines showed higher antibody titre against MD, IB andIBD3 and 4 weeks post vaccination. On the other hand the highestantibody titre against NDv, IBv and IBDv was recorded postrevaccination with trivalent after priming with live vaccines, at 3and 4 weeks post vaccination. Unvaccinated control groupshowed negative antibody titre at 3 and 4weeks post vaccination.
