Abstract:
The present work include two parts, the first one is experimental work, it was planned to study the effect of Nigella sativa seeds on immune status, rumen fermentation, growth rate and some blood parameters as well as liver and kidney function and lipid pAnimals:A) Experimental work:A total number of twenty uncastrated male sheep, about 6-7 months age, with average body weight 21-25 kg. were divided in to 4 groups, 5 animals in each one:Group A: Non vaccinated, non supplemented sheep (control).Group B: Non vaccinated and supplemented with Nigella sativaseeds orally (0.2 g/kg b.wt.).Group C: Vaccinated with foot and mouth disease vaccine (type O1and A strain) and supplemented with Nigella sativa seedsorally (0.2 g/kg b.wt.).Group D: Vaccinated with foot and mouth disease vaccine (type O1and A strain) alone.All studied sheep were subject to clinical and laboratory examinationto prove to be in good health condition and free from internal and blood parasites and brucellosis
