Summary:- The present study was undertaken to evaluate the biochemical effects of chromium on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.Its effects on immunity was also investigated. For these purposes four groups of rats (each of ten) were used.I. control group was fed on standard diet for 6 weeks .II. Streptozotocin-induced diabeticgroup injected with streptozotocin at a single dose of 50 mg/kg B.wt. intraprotonealIII. Streptozotocin-induced diabetic group treated with chromium. Picolinate 18 mg/kg B.wt. for 6 weeks, orally, single dose per day.IV.
