The present study was carried out on 920 fishes (400 Oreochromisniloticus, 200 Clarias gariepinus and 320 Cyprinus carpio) of differentsize and body weight randomly collected from fish farms in Kafr EI-Sheikh Govemorate, EI-Sharkia Govemorate and wild fish from El-Kaluobia Govemorate for studying the gill parasitic diseases. Theexamined fishes were obtained during different seasons and weresubjected to clinical and parasitological examination. There were no pathognomonic clinical abnormalities. Infested fishesshowed excess of mucous on the gills and signs of respiratory manifestations. Some 0. niloticus showed yellowish cysts in the branchial cavity.Others showed crustacean parasite on the gill filaments as numerous elongateddots. While in some C. gariepinus showed whitish or yellowish cysts on thegill filaments and/or in the accessory respiratory organ. The isolated parasites were belonging to Sarcomastigophoraincluding; Flagellated protozoa, (Ichthyobodo sp.), Ciliated protozoa(Trichodina sp.) and psudopoda protozoa (Paramoebia sp.), Myxosporea(Henneguya sp.) ; Platyhelminthes including Monogenetic trematodes(Cichlidogyrus sp., Qudriacanthus sp. and Macrogyrodactylus sp.),Digentic trematodes tClinostomum sp. and unidentified EMC) andArthropoda Crustacean parasites (Lamproglena sp. )The total prevalence of gill parasitic infestations III examinedfishes was 77.24%. In O. niloticus (52.25%); C. carpio (85%) and in C.gariepinus (88.5%).
