Abstract:
A total of 455 samples (feces, milk and meat) were collected from different localities of Sharkia Governorate during a period fromApril 2005 till March 2006.The samples were examined for presence of Escherichia coli 0157 serogroup using enrichment-HCL treatment method and the isolates were confirmed biochemically and serologically.Detection of virulence genes of Escherichia coli 0157 isolates byMultiplex-PCR was determined. The evaluations of the bactericidal activity of some commercial disinfectant were assessed. The obtained results were summarized as follows:1- Examination of 176 fecal samples collected from different farm animals involving cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats and camels from different localities at Sharkia Governorate searching for the presence of Escherichia coli 0157. The results revealed that 2- Escherichia coli 0157 could not be isolated from feces of sheepor goats but were isolated from cattle, buffaloes and camel feces.
