Abstract:
WSSV is a viral infection of penaeid shrimp. The disease is highlylethal and contagious, killing shrimps quickly. Outbreaks of this disease havewiped out within a few days the entire populations shrimp farms.The presence or absence of the virus in Egyptian coast was the aim ofthis study. To achieve these goals, different shrimp samples from symptomatic diseased shrimp were collected from different localities at Egyptian seas and tested for detection of the virus. For isolation of the virus the collected samples of penaeid shriThe MDBK was more sensitive than Vero cells in the isolation of the virus that was due to the first one was more acceptant for the prepared sample buffer.
