Abstract:
This study was aimed to isolate and identificate Candida albicansfrom different sources. Therefore, 200 samples (buccal cavity andvaginal swabs from examined animals with crop and gizzard swabsfrom poultry) were collected from cattle (36), buffalo (30) sheep (36)goat (30) and poultry (68) for identification. The difference invirulence of C. albicans was studies according to its source. Thisoccurred through experimental infection in mice intraperitoneal by theisolated C. albicans. All animals subjected to experimental infection were treated bycortisone before and after inoculation. The animals remained underobservation for 2 weeks, dead and sacrificed animals exposed topostmortem examination then organ were taken for histopathologicalstudies. Specimen from organs of sacrificed animals were fixed in\0% formalin then dehydration were done and clearing with xylol, embedded in paraffin sections of 5 micron thickness were obtainedand stained with H&E and PAS. The obtained result could besummarized as follow:Mice injected with 1 xl 08 cells intraperitoneall y induced mortalityabout 100% in cattle and poultry, 80% in buffalo and 60% in sheepand goat.
