Hypoglycaemic Effect of Some Plants in Rats

Diabetes mellitus is considered an important health problem with a prevalence of 2-5% in the developing countries. The importance of this disease is more apparent when we put in consideration the complications or sequlae of diabetes. The complication of tNevertheless, large number of oral antidiabetic drugs are available today which are used in type II diabetes. Meanwhile the beneficial effect of these drugs as hypoglycemic drug but their macro and microvascular complication were reported.The present study aim to spot the light on two plants (Lupinus temis and Trigonella foenum graecum), which are widely used as antidiabetic agent in folk-medicine.
