Role of Inflammatory Eells in Destruction of Schistosoma Mansoni Schistosomula in Mice

Abstract:
Schistossomiasis is a world wide endemic disease which has harmfuleffect on the health and productivity of the people. This study aimed to clarify the role of the inflammatory cells indestruction of Schistosoma mansoni schistosomulae in experimentalinfected mice. Ninety Swiss albino mice 20-25 gm B.wt and 30 days old were usedand obtained from breeding stock of Teodore bilharzias institute in Cairo.There were divided into 6 groups each consists of 15 mice. These mice have been proved to be healthy parasitic freeGroup (1) and group (2) each consist of 15 mice each mouse in each group was exposed to topical application of dilute sulphoric acid on skin tail for 2 hrs and 48 hrs respectively. Then each was infected with 100 Schistosoma mansoni cercariae by tail immesacrificed on 7 days post-infection for histopathological study and theremaining 10 mice were sacrificed at 7 weeks post-infection for recovery ofadult worms by liver perfusion. Group (4) consists of 15 mice, each was inoculated intratrachealy with 150 u paraffin oil, then after 10 days post-inoculation each was infected with 100 Schistosoma mansoni cercariae by tail .immersion,S mice
