Abstract:
Cephalosporin antibiotics are widely prescribed for commoninfections such as bronchitis, otitis media, pneumonia, and cellulitis.They are also administrated as first- line prophylaxis for many typesof surgical procedures.The present study was conducted to throw the light on theeffect of cefquinome on experimentally vaccinated goats withCovexin 8 with regarding to their effect on the specific and non-specific immune response, haematological and biochemical profilesExperimental design:Twenty -four male healthy goats of average weight about 20-25 kg. Pre-experimental period extended for one week throughwhich animals were subjected to clinical examination to ensuresound physiological activities. Animals were classified into fourequal groups, 6 goats each.1 st group receive no medication and serve as Parallel control.2nd group received cefquinome in a dose of 1.1 mg I kg h. w.I/M. forfive successive days.3rd group received Covexin 8 in a dose of 2 ml/goatsubcutaneously.4th group received cefquinome in a dose of 1.1 mg I kg b. w. IIM.for five successive days. followed by Covexin 8 in a dose
