Abstract:
Two hundred and twenty four albino rats were used (92 males and 132 females) to investigate the carcinogenicity ofcertain chemicals (acrylamide,acrylonitrile and lead acetate), with particular emphyasis on induced tumors and the effect of chemotherapy (doxorubicin and methotrexate) and radiotherapy (gamma rays) on treatment of these tumors. The rats were divided into 11 groups and treated as follGroup 1 :- it included 20 male rats treated with acrylamide -2mglkg B.W/day in drinking water for 14 months and after one month from the beginning ofexperiment, each animal received cyclosporin A at a dose of 2 mg /dayintragastrically using a stomach tube for 6 months. Group2:- it included 20 male rats treated with acrylamide -2mg/kg B.W/day in drinking water for 14 months Group3 :- it included 20 female rats treated with acrylamide -3mg/kg B.W/day in drinking water fointragastrically using a stomach tube for 6 months. Group4: - it included 20 female rats treated with acrylamide - 3mg/kg B. W /day in drinking water for 14 months.
