Abstract:
This work introduces solitons solutions for the (2 + 1)-dimensional Harry Dym equation using Darboux transformation. The link between the (2 + 1)-dimensional Harry Dym equation and the linear system associated with the modified Kadomtzev-Patvishvili equation is used. Namely, soliton solutions for the linear system associated with the later equation are produced using Darboux transformation. These solutions are inserted in the mentioned link to produce soliton solutions for the (2 + 1)-dimensional Harry Dym equation. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
