Abstract:
The present work is performed to study the pathological effects of carbaryl as a carcinogenic substance on the different body organs of albino rats.Fifty- four apparently healthy, mature albino rats of both sexes were used in this work. They were divided into 3 equal gps. Thirty six a mature albino rats of both sexes (18 0, 18 ¥)were given orally by stomach tube 1/10 LDso of carbaryl. Dosed for4 times / week for 3 , 6 and 9 months .Eighteen albino rats of both sexes were used as control. Eighteenrats from each gp were sacrificed at 3 , 6 & 9 months (P .A.)included 5 controls. Rats of gp (1) which received 1110 LDso of carbaryl and acrificed after 3 months .The clinical signs were excessivealivation , lacrimation ,increase respiratory rate, muscular spasmas well as anorexia. Liver revealed congestion, telangiectasisand some hepatocytes arranged in the shape of acini, tubuleswith proliferation of kupffer’s cells. Kidneys showed mlargement ,congestion ,perivascular edema, cystic dilation ofenal tubules with flattened epithelium with epithelial and hyaline:ast . Stomach revealed petechial hemorrhages on the gastricnucosa with acanthosis and hyper keratosis. Intestine showed:ongestion and hyperplasia in the epithelial lining villi .
